Face of the Franchise: Career Mode in sport games is my favourite mode in all of gaming. I always play every game and have sunken countless hours on Madden 21 coins multiple titles. In the Madden 21 demonstration I was simulating the vast majority of the matches. This story does not make you care. It's so dead and corny. The figures are super unlikeable and this is coming from a man who sort of liked the 2k18 MyPlayer story and in the close of the day I just don't care. I didn't want to spend myself in the narrative they had happening. The situations were super unrealistic from it being a packed NFL arena for a high school country match or Snoop Dog only randomly on the area. All of it just cries cliche and I usually still adore that sort of material but I just wanted to skip the cutscenes but I exposed myself through it. Your gameplay in the first stages does not even matter, you could be the worst football player ever and you still get 10 D1 offers at this point why even have me perform with? The game sets you on rookie mode with no option to adjust so it turns into just chucking the ball up and pressing Y(or Triangle) and setting up +70 on everybody. I've never felt this univested in a career mode and this is the second as it clicked that I'm not enthusiastic about this match in any way.
I don't know how many will read this but CONGRATULATIONS EA I just feel empty. Soccer is my favorite sport(I was a college player and now coach school ball) and during my time on the trial I did not feel excited. I'd super low expectations so I didn't feel frustrated, I felt nothing. I like this sport and this is the only major simulation option and that I felt nothing. I have a couple hours left so I may just test a bit more but after my period is done it is done for good. I got fooled into buying Madden 20 but maybe not this year. If you want the sport, trendy. As someone who understands football well and the way the game works in real life this title doesn't do anything for me personally. If you like football anything beyond a casual fan I can not suggest Madden 21 for you. It's really sad that this is what we must work with. We literally have to beg for attributes from executives and impolite devs. If you took the time to browse thanks, catch me playing NCAA 14 along with PS2 Madden and #FixFranchiseMode.
Madden is a perfect example of what a monopoly does to the grade of a service/product. The pub is set low by them and every year is a"measure in a new direction". Thank god I only got the trial.
This together with all that I'm seeing on both r/Madden in addition to r/MaddenUltimateTeam cements me not buying Madden for the first time because Madden 05 at the very least before the new consoles come out. I really do play MUT and've spent quite some time in it that the past five years but since the MUT staff gave up earlier in the summer I watched how much I actually didn't like that mode, just lacked continuous updates and articles. I cut my teeth, so to speak, on Franchise mode and cheap Madden nfl 21 coins that love revived once MUT closed down. To see that the 6-7 bullet points that they were adding to Franchise along with nothing else broke my heart.
